Luke 18:24-30 ESV
24 Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” 27 But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” 28 And Peter said, “See, we have left our homes and followed you.” 29 And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the age to come eternal life.”
I.GETTING MORE THAN YOU PUT IN
A.Wealth is not a sign of righteousness but what you do with your wealth is.
B.We don’t just give to God but we get from God, and in greater measure, in return for what we give. (Luke 6:38)
Luke 6:38 — 38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
C.What we get later from God in heaven is determined by what we give and do now.
II.HEAVENLY REWARDS ARE FOR REAL
A.The rewards we receive from God in heaven will be proportionate to what we have sacrificed on the earth. (1 John 2:28)
I John 2:28 — 28 Now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence & not shrink from him in shame at his coming.
B.The Great Exchange of the Gospel is not just sin for righteousness but temporary treasure for eternal treasure.
C.The real value of money is not the happiness it can get us here but the inexhaustible joy it can gain us and others in eternity.
Luke 12:33 — 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Make money-bags for yourselves that won’t grow old, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. (HCSB)

1.There are no 2nd chances before Jesus for unbelievers or believers. (1 Corinthians 3:15)
2.Become as good as investing in the long tomorrow as you are at investing in the short tomorrow of retirement.
3.Choose to change your heavenly obituary into what you want it to be.
4.The good work of Jesus gets us into heaven. Our good works gain us rewards in heaven.
